What a fabulous team! I had the privilege and honour to work alongside both Charlie and Tim at my couples wedding last month. They are the ultimate photographer/videographer duo- professional, friendly, reliable, creative and talented!

We couldn't be more delighted with our wedding photos and film - they really capture the day and took our breath away. On the day, Charlie, Tim and Beth bought so much energy and so many creative ideas for photo and film opportunities. They were such fun to work with and our guests adored them too. In the run up to the day, Charlie was so responsive and had so many helpful suggestions as to the running order and photo opportunities (so glad we got the confetti cannons!). Studio Westlake took the most incredible photos for us. As two people who are not very comfortable in front of a camera, Charlie really made us and our family feel at ease when having photographs taken. He captured the most beautiful photos of our day, and we can’t wait to look back on them for years to come. It was lovely to have a photographer we had so much confidence in, so we didn’t need to worry about photos at all during the day, and could just enjoy ourselves! I would highly recommend Studio Westlake to anyone looking for a wedding photographer.

We booked Charlie to help us recreate our wedding photos 2 months after actually getting married. We had a call to discuss what I was looking to try to achieve from having a second shoot and he was able to give us ideas on outfits, he had created and saved a Pinterest to share show me what he had understood about the brief. On the day, he was amazing. He was running around to find the best light, backdrop, and as much as everyone wants "candid" sometimes what you actually need is a bit of direction to create something epic. By the end of the shoot my Husband and I were so relaxed, running in the water, spinning around and just having an absolute blast! We went with the aim to get that one special photo which you can look at with a full heart and ended up loving every single last one! Thank you so much!

I will start by saying that we absolutely could not be happier with Charlie’s service and the final photos. I was so pleased with it all that I wanted to spend a bit of time writing a review. I have broken it down into three sections. (1) The photos First of all, the photos themselves are just absolutely unbelievable. I have never seen anything quite like it. They are of such a high quality and intelligently shot. It is so nice to be able to go through the photos in the order of the day. Charlie has captured the emotion of the day perfectly, and going through the photos really helps us remember each moment of the day. They really are a priceless memory. (2) Charlie on the day I imagine that taking someone’s wedding photos involves quite a high amount of pressure. It is quite a serious job to be entrusted with. But Charlie remained so calm throughout the entire thing (which really helped me stay calm). He was always in the right place at the right time, and it felt like he was almost helping to run the wedding at some points. Charlie also did a wonderful job of the tricky task of balancing getting lots of photos with not being to intrusive. It never felt like I had a camera jammed in my face, he just seemingly disappeared into the background whilst still managing to capture all the important moments of the day. Charlie was also amazing interacting with my Wife and I. It felt like I had an extra friend on the day who was helping me to stay calm and enjoy myself. When Charlie would direct us away for Couple’s Portraits, it gave us invaluable time away from everyone else to just relax and process everything that was happening. In addition, we were both a bit worried about “posing” for photos as we are not very natural in front of the camera. However, Charlie was amazing at directing us into good spots and helping us relax and take natural photos that didn’t look forced, something we are not very good at on our own! Many of our guests and family actually commented on the day on how brilliant Charlie was. I actually felt like we had got our money’s worth before we had even seen the photos! (3) Access to the photos/Website Finally, I think it is worth mentioning that the access to the photos once they were ready was excellent as well. We were provided with an easy link that allowed us to log in, and browse through all the photos and select favourites. You are able to download all of them directly from the site in very high quality, and have various additional options such as ordering high quality prints, making thank you cards, etc. You can also create a photo book, photo by photo. My wife really enjoyed this feature. It was also very simple to send a link to our various family members, which gave them the same access (i.e. ability to view, download and order prints). This was the cherry on top of everything. Overall, we could not be happier with the service provided by Charlie, and I would highly recommend him to anyone getting married!

We are so pleased we chose Studio Westlake to shoot our wedding and engagement, Charlie is a fantastic photographer. He really took the time to figure out what we wanted and captured not only beautiful couple portraits but also amazing candid shots of all our guests. Where to even start when summing up our experience with Studio Westlake?! We picked Studio Westlake to photograph our wedding at River Cottage, and the team honestly made our dreams come true. Not just because of the stunning pictures we received, but because of the energy, freedom and creativeness that came with the planning, the pre-wedding shoot, and the day itself. My Husband and I always felt like we could be ourselves in front of the camera, and any direction we received absolutely worked to our strengths and stylistic preferences. We had a pre-wedding shoot at Beer Beach in front of the general public, and we totally forgot anyone was watching; it’s actually one of our favourite memories together as a couple. On the day itself Charlie photographed the bridal ‘getting ready’ journey at The Pig At Combe, a part of the day I (the Bride) was a little nervous about because of the stress and the more candid style of photography, but Charlie was so careful and considerate of all that was going on and was actually my safe person in the morning. I’m also so grateful that he proactively took photos of the beautiful hotel, which will serve as lovely memories I hadn’t thought to capture. Charlie is a photographic genius and perfectionist, through and through, and his work is an absolute testament to that. Not to mention he genuinely believes in romance, and the celebration of pure love and magic that a wedding day represents. Beyond the photographs, we feel so grateful to have had a photographer as warm, passionate, and helpful as Charlie. So many of our guests commented on his lovely energy, and it truly felt like we had another friend at the wedding, how many people can say that? We were looking for a photographer and found a (very talented) friend. We honestly can’t thank him or recommend Studio Westlake enough.
