Many years ago, ( around 40 years) ago the whole thing was for sale, my father and I viewed it and we seriously considered it. The house was beautiful in its raw state (I remember we were given a giant door key!) . The ruins were absolutely fascinating. I don't blame the owner at all for only opening to the public on certain days because otherwise it would be very intrusive. It is lovely to see everything so well maintained.

Has a lovely community, big parks and dense in the countryside where it’s quiet and friendly it has lots of clubs and kids places but the school I would avoid

Fascinating history and a wonderful insight into the builders and owners of the castle. Have wanted to come and visit for many years but never been able to get to Hemyock on a Bank Holiday until today. It was worth the wait.
Very knowledgeable lady introduced us to the castle who clearly was very passionate of her castle then left us to wander around the site. Recommend downloading the guide leaflet from the website or buy the guide book to fully understand the layout however there is a great Interpretation Centre within the castle grounds. Well worth the £1 to get in. The owners could charge much more and open for more days in the year but I can understand why they don't. The visit was not commercialised like some other visitors attractions, which ruins the experience and ambience of a historic building. Really enjoyed the couple of hours that we were there. Thank you.

Mostly some ruins of a castle comprising the remains of two towers and an arch. The adjacent Church of St Mary's is pretty and the village is fairly pleasant but don't go expecting much of a castle.
